Drones: what to buy, what to skip (2026)

Shopping for a drone on Amazon.in? This hub collects every drone Buyrskip has checked and sorts them the only way that matters: buy it, or skip it. 2 of the 3 models here earn a straight buy; the rest are worth considering only in some homes. Camera drones compared on weight, camera, flight time and Indian drone rules.

What decides it

Weight: drones under 250 g (nano) have the simplest rules. Camera: 4K with a 3-axis gimbal gives smooth video. Flight time: 30 minutes or more per battery.

The models we would buy

Start with the DJI Mini 4 Pro: under 249 g with 4K HDR and obstacle sensing. The DJI Mini 2 SE is the better buy if you are learning to fly and want a nano drone. Usual prices run from ₹19,999 to ₹94,999. See the full buy-or-skip list or the head-to-head DJI Mini 4 Pro vs DJI Mini 2 SE.

Buying a drone in India

Under the Drone Rules 2021, check the Digital Sky airspace map before flying: red and yellow zones near airports and borders need permission. Nano drones under 250 g need no pilot certificate for non-commercial use. Prices on Amazon.in move in a pattern. The deepest cuts land in the Great Indian Festival (around Navratri and Diwali), Prime Day in July and the Republic Day sale in January, usually with extra bank-card discounts and no-cost EMI. Judge a deal against the usual price we show, never against the MRP.

Quick answers

Do I need a licence to fly a drone in India? Not for nano drones under 250 g flown non-commercially. Heavier drones need registration and a remote pilot certificate. Where can I fly? In green zones on the Digital Sky map, below 120 m, away from airports and sensitive areas.

Order from Amazon itself or the brand's own storefront so the India warranty applies, keep the GST invoice and register the product with the brand straight away. For ACs, geysers, chimneys and purifiers, ask whether installation and the demo visit are free before you pay.

How we make the call: we read spec sheets, manuals and warranty terms, check how good the service network is in India and track the usual Amazon.in price. A product gets “Buy” only if we would tell a friend to buy it at that price. Brands cannot pay for a verdict.

Why listen to Buyrskip

We do not sell anything, and no brand can buy a place on our lists. When a best-seller has a real flaw, we say skip it. Our Amazon.in links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes a verdict.
